Excel Learning Trust is looking to recruit a Careers Advisor to support our students at both Millthorpe School and York High School in making well-informed and aspirational decisions about their future education and career pathways. You will develop close links with our Career Leads to arrange careers events, assemblies and bespoke support for individual students.

This role is integral to the future success of our students and the successful candidate will be absolutely committed to making a difference and improving the life chances of our students. You will have a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and Development or an equivalent/higher qualification, knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks, excellent administration skills, and the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge young people.

Days and working hours for this role will be discussed with shortlisted candidates at interview.

  • 18 hours per week (1 day at York High School (7 hours) and 1.5 days at Millthorpe School (11 hours))
  • Term time plus one week
  • Grade 6, Level 1-4 (£27,513 to £30,015 per annum) reduced pro rata (Actual Salary £11,793.98 to £12,866.51)
  • Closing date: midnight on Tuesday 13 May 2025
  • Interview date: week commencing 19 May 2025
  • Start Date: 1 September 2025
