Peter Quinn grew up in Birstall, West Yorkshire and came to York via Tanzania and Oxford.
As Director of Student Support at the University of York he led well-being initiatives for students and is still a College Fellow at Derwent College. Before this he was Head of the Disability Advisory Service at the University of Oxford and continues to be a consultant to the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
He now works as a consultant and trainer for universities and other organisations, focusing on equality, diversity and inclusion. He has two children at Knavesmire, where he is a regular volunteer for classroom reading and school trips. He is also a Knavesmire Harrier, supports Hamilton Panthers and collects African Masks.
