Excel Learning Trust is deeply saddened to learn of the death of former Carr Junior School and York High School pupil, Cain North, who passed away yesterday.
Cain was an exceptional young man whose courage, positivity and determination touched everyone who met him. Throughout his illness, he continued to give his time and energy to raising awareness of childhood brain tumours and supporting the work of OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity, a cause that meant a great deal to him and to many within our school communities.
Cain remained closely connected to our schools long after he left, working with staff and students on fundraising initiatives and speaking openly about his journey in the hope of helping others. His impact on our pupils, our colleagues and the wider community has been profound and lasting.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Cain’s family, friends and all who loved him at this very difficult time.
